Private Beach Yoga – Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a private beach yoga session on Cape Cod? Below are answers to common questions about locations, what to bring, weather plans, parking, and how private group yoga sessions work.

Q : What should we bring?
A: Please bring a beach towel or yoga mat, water, and sunscreen. Comfortable clothing you can move in is recommended, and sunglasses can be helpful on bright days.

Q: Do we need yoga experience?
A: Not at all! Private beach yoga sessions are designed for all levels, including beginners. The class is relaxed, welcoming, and perfect for groups with mixed experience.

Q: How long is the session?
A: Private beach yoga sessions are approximately 60 minutes.

Q: Where does the session take place?
Sessions are typically held at Sea Street Beach, Cold Storage Beach, or Crowes Pasture in Dennis, depending on wind, tides, and beach conditions. I will recommend the best location for your group before your session.

Important Location Note

There are two beaches named Sea Street Beach in Dennis, located on opposite sides of town.

Private beach yoga sessions meet at Sea Street Beach in Dennis Village (the North Side), which is located next to Cold Storage Beach off Route 6A near Route 134.  Please do not go to Sea Street Beach in West Dennis on the south side, as that is a completely different beach and about a 20-minute drive away.  The exact meeting location and parking details will always be sent before your session so your group knows exactly where to go.

Q: Where should we park?
A: Parking varies depending on the beach and time of day, especially during the summer season. I will send the recommended beach location and parking details a few days before your session so your group knows exactly where to go. Please allow a little extra time for parking and walking onto the beach.

Q: When should we arrive?
A: Please plan to arrive about 10 minutes before the scheduled start time so everyone has time to park, walk to the beach, and get settled.  Because I often have other sessions scheduled the same day, classes must begin and end at the reserved time. If the group arrives late, the session will still end at the originally scheduled time.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad?
A: Beach yoga is an outdoor experience, so weather conditions sometimes require flexibility. Light drizzle is usually fine and we can still practice, but if there is heavier rain or unsafe wind we may need to adjust.  Groups are encouraged to have a simple indoor backup option available (such as a rental house living room, covered porch, or nearby space) in case the weather doesn’t cooperate. If your group prefers to move indoors instead of practicing in light drizzle, that is always an option.

Q: Do you provide yoga mats?
A: No, please bring a beach towel or yoga mat for each person.

Q: Do participants need to sign a waiver?
A: For private group sessions, the group organizer will complete a brief booking form that includes a standard liability acknowledgment before the session.

Q: What types of groups is this experience best for?
A:  Private beach yoga is perfect for:

• Bachelorette celebrations
• Girls’ weekends
• Family vacations
• Birthday gatherings
• Wellness retreats

Sessions are designed to be fun, relaxed, and a beautiful way to start the day together on Cape Cod.
