Yoga is a journey into stillness. It is a moving meditation. We use our breath to link our movements as we move from dynamic movement to static exploration. The beauty in yoga is that we discover and uncover the true essence of ourselves as we clear away the chatter and come into stillness of our mind.

Yoga also a way of being centered in action so your desires have the clearest perspecitive of what's happening and can respond most appropriately. We become more in charge of ourselves as we become less reactive and more in tune with our true desires.

Eric Schiffman likens stillness to a spinning top. "Stillness is like a perfectly centered top, spinning so fast it appears motionless. It is unconflicted movement, life in harmony with itself. The only way to get there is to come fully into the present moment, enjoying unconflicted movment of our lives in harmony with the Source engery around us."

Next time you are in your yoga class moving through asanas, try to stay completed connected to your breath as you move. In this way, you will discover yourself on a much deeper level and come to know a profound stillness within.
